LATEST CAUSALITY LIST.
225 MISSING. The latest casualty list issued by the Defence Department . contains the names of 28 killed in action, 15 deaths from other causes, and the unusually large number of 225 missing. Of this number of missing 221 belong to the Entrenching Battalion, and contain the names of men from all parts of the Dominion. Though Taihape itself is not represented in the list, there appear the names of Corporal C, W. Maru, of Ohakune, died of wounds, and C. L. Sinnett, of Karioi, missinz, It was between April 12th and 26th the members of the Entrenching Battalion were reported missing and at about that time the New Zealanders were fighting in the neighbourhood of Buequoy, midway between Arras and Albert.
Regarding the list of men missing in the lust casualty-list, the Defence Department has issued a circular to the next-of-kin stating that cabled information has been received that probably a large number have been taken prisoner. Cabled inquiries arc being made, and the relatives will be advised of the result
