BROKEN PEACE TREATY. GERMANY'S EASTERN MARCH. LONDON, May 20. ■ A Russian wireless message states: The Germans in the Reval region violated the boundary fixed on March 6 and advanced eastwards, despite the protests of the Russian commander. The Foreign Commissary requested the withdrawal of the troops. White Guards at Helsingfors executed the Russian Fleet Commissary ( Jemtchujin), on the pretext that he was conducting a revolutionary campaign among the German marines_ The German commander replied to the protests of the Russian admiral that Jemtehujin had outlawed himself by inciting to mutiny, consequently his execution was exclusively the affair of the Germans. The Germans have occupied Bjorko, on the Gulf of Finland, south of Yiborg. CONCRETE HELP FOR RUSSIA URGED Received 9.45 a.m., WASHINGTON, May 21. A telegram from Tiflis. dated May 12th, states tha. peace pourparlers between the Caucasus Diet and the Ottoman Government have been broken off, owing to the monstrous demands of the Turks, who immediately began an energetic offensive on the whole front. They occupied the town of Van, massacring the Armenian population. AN APPEAL TO WILSON. ON RUSSIA’S BEHALF. i Received 10.50 a.m. LONDON, May 21. The Daily Chronicle appeals to President Wilson not to delay in putting himself at the head of a more positive Allied policy for Russia, The paper suggests thta a Japanese army be sent to supply the nucleus for discipline and order, around which the forces of reconstruction in Russia would be able to rally. If the Allies do not assist the democracy the Germans will supply a nucleus for the reactionary! fores. Already the gallant Georgians are being squeezed Into surrender between German pressure in the Crimea, and Turkish pressure' in Armenia. The Allies ought to do something to save the Russians, Ukrainians and other nationalities from the hideous dilemma of German depotism or internal disorder, famine and bloodshed.
