WOMEN’S WORKING CLUB.

A meeting of the Taihape Womb’s Working Club was held on Tuesday, May 14th, when there were present: Mesdames Smith (chair), Boyd, Plummer, Bennett, Neagle, Miller, Misses Rollings, McDonald. Spooner, and Miss Kennedy. Apologies for absence were received from Mes&kmes Gardner and Fookes A letter was received from the secretary of the N.Z. Branch of theNational Association of the French War Orphans, asking for financial assitance. It was decided to reply regretting the Club’s inability to assist in the direction desired. A sugestion was made that the Club hold monthly dances in order to raise funds, but it was mentioned the Returned Soldiers’ Association intended holding similar functions. The Secretary was instructed .to get into communication with the Association and ascertain what arrangements had been by them before deciding anything in this direction.

Accounts amonting tto £247 6s lid were passed for payment and themeeting adjourned.
