GERMANY’S TROUBLES.
BERLIN LOSING ITS NERVE. OVER WESTERN OPERATIONS. SIGNIFICANT RUMOURS PREVALENT. ROAD TO PARIS MINED. Received 9.5 a.m, LONDON, April 29, The Daily Express's 1 Amsterdam correspondent says Captain von Salzmann, writing to the Vossiche Zeitung reveals that Berlin is suffering from an attack of nerves regarding-the situation In the West. The writer mentions a few of the numerous rumours current in Berlin, such as that the Western offensive is getting out or control, and that the enemy is strong, er than anticipated. “We have no horses with which to continue the fight,’ ’says von Salzmann, “the whole country round Ypres has' become an impassible lake. The country between Amiens front and Paris is mined.” The writer adds the people are beginning to lose their nbrVe, He protests against members of the Reichstag starting rumours whenever there is a pause on the front, and says they have forgotten their duty to the Fatherland.
