The-annual meeting of the Taihape Women's Working Club will be, held in the Presbyterian Hall to-night at 8 o'clock, when a full attendance is requested. Tc-morrow (Wednesday) the Wornen's Working Club shop will' be in charge of Mrs. McDonald and the ladies of the Presbyterian Ladies' Guild. There will be good stocks of both dainty and substantial comestibles. Customers are-advised to be early. At the meeting of the Patriotic Society last night eulogestic references were made to the services of Mr. L. Deacon as treasurer to the Society since its inception. Owing to pressure on our space to-day.we arc compelled to hold over a report of this particular incident until to-morrow. In the guessing competition in connection with the Women's Working Club for a glass dish the number of peas in the bottle was 235, and as Mr Ozanne, of Hihitahi, guessed the exact number, the prize will be handed to him on any Wednesday or Saturday while the Shop is open.
