RED TRIANGLE SPORTS.
COMMITTEE MEETING
The Red Triangle Day Sports Committee held a meeting on Friday evening when Sergeant-Major Forrest and Messrs. Swindells, Nealy, Parker, McCormick, Miller and Loader were present.
It was decided to have the marquee* damaged at the sports, repaired and a' sum of £6 6s 9d was set aside to pay 'for the same, any balance left over to be handed over to the Patriotic Society for incorporation in their monthly donation to th eY.M C.A.
A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the secretaries and treasurer, the lady helpers and all those whose efforts contributed to make the sports so successful. Ajso to the Taihape Band for its' attendance on that date. ... .
The Treasurer (Mr. Swindells) then laid the balance-sheet before \ the meeting which showed:
Receipts—Donations: Messrs. Green 10s 6d, Masters (for Scouts' race) 10s, Fullerton-Smith 10s, Siddells £3, Moghan (sale of lamb) £2 15s; return of prize money (Maori tug of war teams) £4 4s; total £l2 10s. Sports—Admission to grourid£4l Isl 9d, sheep guessing £8 2s, Boy Scouts 4s 6d, chain stepping £3 2s. golf putting £3 5s 6&, entrance fees £l6 Is 3d, voting tickets (dancing £S 1 baby show £3 0s 3d) £ll Is 3d, sweets and soft drinks £l4 17s Id, refreshment tent £27 4s 11, concert £ls 16s. Total £153 Gs.
Expenditure: General expenses £l4 19s 6d, prize money £4 ss, concert £1 14s, balance retained for repairs to marquee £(5 6s 9d, paid to general treasurer £126 Is 6d.
The balance sheet was adoptee", and the meeting adjourned.
