The general organisation of affairs was in the hands of Miss Luers and Mrs. Arthur, both of whom worked like trojans for several days getting every donation in hand, making cakes, dressing poultry and planning all arrangements for day of sale. These two ladies certainly earned the thanks and plaudits of everyone concerned and they got' them. The success of future Hihitahi days is aslstircd ,so long as they are engineering by Miss Luers and Mrs. Arthur. The organisers specially thank all who so generously donated saleable goods. Amongst the contributions were nine-and-a.half sheep—a stock of mutton that realised good prices. The building timber was Auctioned by Mr. Donold McLennan, Mr. Quin’s two trucks brought 15s per 100 feet and Mr Luer ’’s trucks to be supplied in size and quality as purchaser might desire realised 14s per 100. The attendants at the shop are desirous of telling the people of Taihapc how very much they appreciated the support given to the Hihitahi Day.
