AMERICAN HUSTLE. A REMARKABLE UNDERTAKING. WASHINGTON, Feb 27. America will embark on a colossal shipbuilding programme within a few weeks. A great number of destroyers, merchantmen and submarines will be building at Philadelphia and Boston shipyards. Since November, the Government has converted a large barren island in the Delaware river into the biggest shipyards in the world. It has also created a town of 20,000 inhabitants on the island. This yard will assemble parts manufactured at a thousand factories. It is anticipated the Island will turn out fifty ships of 8000 tons in 1918, and after September will finish a merchantman in every two days. JEWS FOR THE FRONT. NEW YORK, Feb 27. A Jewish contingent has oeen drawn from various cities and sworn, into the British Fusiliers. They are proceeding overseas to join the Zionists, and will form the nucleus of a Jewish Army.
