UPPER WANGAEHU ROAD BOARD.

ABSORBED BY COUNTIES

As the result of a deputation representing the Upper Wangaehu Road Board meeting the Wanganui County Council and the members of the Eangitikei County Council, it was resolved that as soon as the mergence of the Upper Wangaehu Eoad Board into the county has been effected, immediate steps will be taken to have the boundaries of tho Wanganui and Eangitikei counties altered, so that the area comprising the Eoad B'oard District, subject to alterations agreed on, shall become part of the Eangitikei County, and that the alterations of boundaries shall not bo affected by other proposed alterations in the boundaries of the counties.

The agreement about boundaries has prevented the Wangaehu Eoad Board from merging into tho County for some time past. Now, the Board is merging into the Wanganui. County, as a means of getting into the Eangitikei County by an adjustment of boundaries. Approximately, the Eangitikei County will benefit ''by about 6,500 acres, valued at £43,000 while Wanganui County gets 7,900 atres valued at £36,000.
