LONDON, Feb 7

A bar to the Military Medal has been awarded to a New Zealander, Sergt. S. F. Foot. He was in command of a platoon after the officer was wounded, when he encountered a strongly-held trench. He took prisoner thirty-nine men with seven machine guns, consolidated the ground, and held on until wounded. The Distinguished Conduct Medal has been awarded to twenty-one New Zealanders
