Sir Auckland Geddes (Minister for National Service) has unexpectedly accepted an invitation to speak at a meeting of Mersey engineers. He spoke for an hour and a-half, and then two hours answering hecklers. His patience and candour impressed the crowd, who ovationed him at the close, though a resolution aaginst the Man-Power Bill was carried.
