The Irish paper, the Daily Telegraph, states that the Cunard liner Andania, with forty passengers ana two hundred of a crew, was torpedoed off the Ulster coast. The ship was abandoned, but all hands were picked up. The liner did not sink, and it is hoped she will be brought into port.
SPANISH STEAMER SUNK
MADRID, January 27.

THE DARDANELLES ACTION.

LONDON, January 28.
A wireless Turkish official message states that there has been aerial activity in the Dardanelles. Land fire compelled two enemy warships and a mine-sweeper to retreat, the latter being thrice hit. .
GERMANY'S SUBMARINE , CAMPAIGN.

WASHINGTON, Jan. 27.
Mr ,N. D,.Baker, (U.S. Secretary for ,War) in a communique points.out-that Germany, 4s planning the most powerful submarine campaign she has yet undertaken against the American transports. Many U-boats have been recalled to their home ports, and are now refitting preparatory to the new campaign.
