General Sir Beauchamp Duff, who was Commander-in-Chief in India from 1913 to 1916, has been found dead in bed

LONDON, Jan 22.

The Inquest on General Duff showed that he had been suffering from Insomnia since the Mesopotmia report. A verdict was brought in that death was du© to an overdose of veronal, taken accidentally, to induce sleep. General Duff, G.C.S.L, G.C.B*., was born in 1855. He served through the Afghan campaign, the Wazeristan expedition, and served with distinction throughout the South African war. From 1906 to 1909 he was chief of staff in India and from 1913 to 1916 was commander-in-chief in. India, He, with Lord Hardinge, the then Viceroy, was , blamed for the Mesopotamian muddle.) . v .
