The “Chicago Daily News” Paris, correspondent interviewed two Americans from Russia, who were permitted to travel through Germany because the authorities were grateful for their care of German prisoners in Russia. They state that the Allies are surprisingly ignorant of Germany's weakness. The conditions are pitiable. The people are starving, haggard, wan and listless, and believe that the next offensive will be the finish of the war for Germany. The Pan-Germans' demand for a dictatorship is a sign of collapse, as the people arc beginning to resent militarism savagely.
