STOCKHOLM, Jan 17.

King Gustave of Sweden, in a speech from the tlfrone, said he sincerely hoped that a free Finland Wou J.4 co-operate with the other Scandinavian combes in a common effort Progress was announced in initiation of negotiations with Finland to settle the Aaland Islands question. King Gustave referring to the difficulties of overseas trade, that negotiations were proceeding for resumption under conditions harmonising with Swedish independence and neutrality.
