WAR SHORTAGE IN AMERICA. WASHINGTON, December 31. Owing to war shortage whitebread is likely to disappear early in 1918. Brigadier-General Crozier, Chief of the Ordnance Department, testified before the Senate Committee investigating military affairs. He stated that Great Britain and France have agreed to furnish artillery for the Americans sent toi France in 1918, and longer if necessary.
