MILITARY SERVICE.
| DATES OF MOBILISATION.
! The Defence Department has an.-, i nounced that the Thitry-sixth Reinj forcemeat draft will not mobilise for (despatch to the training camps until | early in February. The effect of the j order will be that no troops, other j than Cl men —in respect to whom the arrangements remain unaltered —will b e sent into the camps In January. It was originally intended that the Thirty-sixth . Reinforcements would proceed to camp In December, but owing.' to the reduction in the strength of the monthly draft it was found possible to drop one reinforcement.
Following on the new arrangement, the Thirty-seventh draft will go into camp in March, the Thirty-eighth early in April, and the Thirty-ninth in the beginning of May. The first hatch of married men from Class A reservists, drawn in the twelfth ballot, will now go into camp in April instead of March. They will thus have five months’ notice, while many of the men from the twelfth ballot will not reach camp until May. All First Division men now under orders for the Thirty-eighth Reinforcements, formerly due to mobilise in March, will be transferred to the Thirty-seventh Reinforcements, so that the date of their call will not be set back. Married men only will be set back to April.
