AMUSEMENTS

THREE STARS The star picture at the Three Stars last night, “The Sixteenth Wife,” -was decidedly novel, both in plot and environment. The part of the American danseuse, who is the prize the wily Turk is so anxious to obtain for his sixteenth wife, is taken by Peggy Hyland, and her dancing and acting was quite up to the high standard she has set. The part of the eventual successful lover is filled by Mr George North, and the manner in which they play up to one another is inimitable. The schemes of oriental splendour incidental to the picture are very fine. The supporting pictures were also very good. The programme will be shown to-night for the last time.
