The - American destroyer Jacob Jones was torpedoed in European waters. There are 37 survivors. Sixty are missing. Received 9.10. WASHINGTON, Dec 9. Bagley, commander of the Jacob ! Jones, and brother-in-law of Secrej tary Daniels, is among the missing.

Received 11.20. A motor boat, with six survivors from the destroyer Jacob Jones, including Commander Bagley, was picked up and landed at Sciliy Islands. The total saved is 45. T-he destroyer was of the newest type, of 1150 tdn's. There is much comment that she was sunk 500 miles from shore.
