HOCKEY GIRLS’ SOCIAL.
The Taihape Girls’ Hockey Club held a dunce in O’Connor’s Hall on Friday evening last, as a wind up to the past season. By dint of some personal exertion the girls had put the floor in first class order for dancing and their efforts in that direction are worthy of much praise. Excellent music for dancing was provided gratiutously by Mr. A. Upchurch, and this item was a big factor in the evening’s enjoyment. Extras were capably played by Misses Doreen Bray and Treadwell. A dainty supper was provided by the ladies of the club and their friends. The thanks of the Hockey Girls are accorded to Mr. S. Dunbar who gave so much advice and assistance and labour to Mr. J, Ninnis Mr. M. Gavey and Mr. Rugg, for gratuitous services rendered. During the evening Q.M.S. Easton on behalf of those present thanked''the Hockey Girls for the oppointmenf of being present at such an enjoyable function The secretary Miss Dowling and committee deserve every praise for the result of their labours.
