THE PALESTINE SUCCESS. BRITISH ENTHUSIASTICALLY WELCOMED. Received 8.30. LONDON, November 20. Mr. Massey reports that the population of Ramleh welcomed us enthusiastically. At Abushusheh, south-east of Ramleh, was seen another brilliant yoemanry charge. They galloped over a difficult ridge, facing violent macht ine-gun fire, sabred 400 Turks, captured a gun and 350 prisoners. The Anzacs prisonered 300 at Lydda and took 4 machine guns. The Australians took enormous quantities of stores and ammunition.
NATIONAL HOME FOR JEWISH PEOPLE. LONDON, Nov 19, Mr Balfour, replying to a question said Britain’s desire to establish a J °me for the Jewish people in Palestine after the war had not been communicated to the Allies, but Britain believed her allies would approve.
