WOMEN'S WORKING CLUB.

The monthly meeting of the Exe< cutive Committee of the TaihapQ Working Women's Club was held in the Club rooms last night, there being present: Mesdames Shute, Boyd Plummer, and Miss Kennedy. * A letter was received from; Mrs* Peters, Waiouru, stating that owing to pressure of business she would bo unable to continue to act as the Club's representative at Waiouru It wag decided to write to Mrs Peters that the Club was desirous of retaining heij name on the books, and that any lit< tie assistance she could render would be greatly appreciated. A vote of sympathy was passed tqj Mrs McDonald in her illness, and the; hope was expressed that, she would have a speedy recovery . t Votes of sympathy were passed tc» all vfho suffered the loss of relatives in the recent fighting in France. The Committee decided that in fut« ure all the ladies of'the working committee combine and meet on Mondays and Wednesday evenings of each' week for the purpose of sewing ug the parcels for soldiers. In this connection the committee would welcome the presence of mothers, wives or sisters of any of the soldiers to assist in the most humane work of sewing up the p?"cels for "Our Boys" in the trenches and hospitals. | . In addition Fo the parcels there are" 300 singlets to be made up for the v next "warm clothing" parcels. Any lady wiling to assist is requested to attend at the Club rooms on Monday and Wednesday nights, when their services will be readily availed of. This is a work in which all should do their share.
