TAIHAPE RETURNNED SOLDIERS' ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the Committee of the Taihapc Branch of the Returned Sol-c.-esr’ Association was held on Saturday afternoon, Mr. W. H. Xieholls in the chair.

Sergeant-Major Forrest, Messrs. "W. C. Dillon, and B. Mcßride were elected to fill vacancies on the general committee occasioned by the departure of Sergeant, Major P. A. Dc Loree, Mr. H. Roach, and resignation of Mr. T. E. Williams.

The resignation of Sergeant-Major P. A. De Loree was accepted with regret and a vote of thanks passed-for valuable services rendered in connection Avith >thc formation 'of thd club.

Mr. W. H. Nicliolls was elected as the delegate of the Taihape Returned Soldiers ’ Association to act on the Taihape Patriotic Society's Committee.

The previous motion that the m'oney of the Association be lodged in the Bank of New Zealand, -~.uape, was rescinded.

A potion was carried that the matter of securing club rooms and office be deferred to a future date, and in tin. meantime Mr. V. Nicliolls,, had grant' cd the use of his office in Station Street, which will be the appointed office of the Taihape Branch of the Returned Soldiers' Association. Messrs. W. H. Nicliolls and \V. J. ■Munro were appointed trustees of the funds standing to the credit of the Taihape Branch of the Returned Soldiers Club, with instructions to deposit this money in the Post Office Savings Bank.

It was unanimously decided that a letter of thanks be .forwarded to the Rangitikei Saw millers’, Association for their generous offer of .timber for use for the proposed, club. ... ~ The offer of half proceeds from the dance recital by and her pupils was accepted, with thanks and it was decided to forward a letter to Miss Blomfield thanking her for her generous offer. . , ,

Messrs.. W. H. Nicliolls- and W. J. Munro and Sergeant-Major Forrest were appointed to act for the- Returned Soldiers’ Committee in ■ conjunction with the Catholic Bazaar, Committee to arrange details in connection with Miss Pllomfield's recital.
