AT BENNETT Ts SIDING,
A most enjoyable social was hold in the Bennett’s Siding Hall on Monday, evening, (the occasion being a send off to Private H. Goodrich,'-'second son of Mr. G. -yjt:. Goodrich, of%g\faka'who is proceeding to the front. Hho"ha :l was well filled with visitors xrora Mataroa and Taihape, and the local residents, turned out in fu^hforce as usual. The proceedings commenced iyith. dancing to excellent music, supplied by Mrs. Hall, (piano), extras.'beihg rendered by Mr. XL. Williams, and Mr. Voss. During the evening some very plica P • .ts were rendered by Miss X. St- .d Miss E. Sinclair, and during an interval in the dancing Mr. J. Brown, on behalf of Bennett’s Siding residents in a neat speech, presented Private watch, as a small token cf the esteem and goodwill in which he is held. Private Goodrich, suitably responded. A most ..enjoyable dance was brought to a close, with the .singing of Auld Lang jSyne. and GodtSave, fho King. , The duties of M.C. was ably carried out by Mr.'E.- Anderson.
