TAIHAPE SWIMMING CLUB.

ANNUAL MEETING. There was a fairly representative, gathering of members and intending member s of the above Club at the annual general meeting held in the Fire Brigade Hall last t;

Mr A. D. N. Train was voted to the chair, and after the minutes of the previous general meeting had been read and passed, the business of the evening was gone on with.

The Chairman stated that the Club had considerably 'improved its financial status since last annual meeting, the present balance at the bank being in the vicinity of £3O.

A motion of hearty appreciation waspassed to Mr W. Hay (late secretary) for his indefatigable and enthusiastic work in connection with the Club.-

The following officers for the coming season were elected:

Patron, J P. Studholme, President R. W. Smith; Vice Presidents, Messrs J. McCormick, W. McLennan, P. E. Wakeman, B. C_ L. Dymock, S. Dunbar; Captain, O. F. Dunkley; Vice Captain, C. Baddeley; Treasurer, H. D. Bond; Secretary, W_ Gieseking; Hon. Auditor, Mr. C. L. Dymock; Committee: Messrs R. Partridge, F. O’Keefe, S. Beban, H. Boughton, J. Champion, D. Mitchell, A. D. N. Train

A deputation, consisting of Messrs Train , Dunbar, DymQck, c and McLennan, with power to act, was elected to wait on the Council in connection with opening the Baths, etc., and to report at next meeting, which will be held shortly.

After a few suggestions by those present had been discussed this concluded the business of the evening and a vote of thanks to the chair terminated the meeting.
