The varied and much appreciated programme was contributed by artists from Taoroa Road and Taoroa The item, “Way Home in Tennessee,” given by six Taoroa ladies,, dressed as niggers, received a hearty encore. Mrs Haydon and Miss Smylie rendered songs in a delightful manner. Mr Griffiths’ violin sola monologue, also duet with Mr Thomasen were well received. Miss Pees gave two excellent recitations. Miss Reynolds kindly accomapnied on the piano several items, as well as contributing a pleasing piano solo. A dialogue, in which Mrs Dixon, Mrs Haydon, Miss Miss Smylie, Miss Brown and Miss A. Collins took part, and humorous sketches by Miss Smylie, Private J Collins, Messrs Law, F. and M. were two bright and amusing items. We were very fortunate in securing the services of Miss Aborn, A.R.C.M., who ably companied the songs and gave sev- ’ eral beautiful pianoforte solos which were much apreciated. The singing of the National Anthem by all concluded a most pleasant evening. We are pleased to be able to report that, as a result of the concert, the sum of £5 will go towards the funds of the Taihape Women’s Working Club.
