RIOT AT A PEACE MEETING.

LONDON, Oct 7. A pacifist meeting in the Brotherhood Church resulted in a riot. A large crowd, including soldiers, assembled outside the building and broke through a police cordon protecting the church. They howled down the chairman, took possession of the building, and sang the National Anthem and patriotic songs. Someone started a fire beside the pulpit ? intending to burn down the church. The crowd rushed out, crying “Fire!” The police extinguished the flames, little damage being done. ROUNDING UP PACIFISTS. Received 10.25. At the Socialist conference at Bordeaux, Mr Henderson, on behalf of the British Labour Party, declared the Internationale had no chance of success while the war continued. He hoped an inter-Allied conference would soon be held. He' wanted a victorious peace, the destruction of German militarism, and the abdication ,of the Kaiser.
