DEPUTATION TO PREMIER. DEPUTATION TO PREMIER. WELLINGON, Oct. 4. A deputation of the 'Auckland First Division League of Soldiers’ Mothers, headed by Mrs Emil Nicol, waited on the Premier and Sir James Allen this morning to ask for greater consideration to soldiers’ mothers and State benevolent guardianship for the children of soldiers. The deputation also expressed its gratitude and appreciation of what had already been done by the Government and Sir James Allen. Discussing the Second Division demands Mrs. Nicol said: "Why should not husbands and wives be torn apart when mothers and sons have been torn apart? The Second Division League are bargainors; we are true loyalists.” Mr. Massey asknowledgcd the appreciative references to the Government’s legislation and proposals, adding: "We appreciate the great '.sacrifice mase by mothers, and hope to be able to do justice to the women who have sent their sons to the front. ’ ’
