GERMAN SPY KILLED.
BELGIANS TORTURED AND EXECUTED. • Lies Nouvelles, of Maastricht, states that a German who was one of the chiefs of the German espionage organisation in Belgium was assassinated last Friday at Lommel (B'elgian Limberg). The author of the crime is-not known, and cannot be traced. A notice has been posted up offering a reward of £l5O for any one who denounces the criminal. The same paper reports that seven Belgians were shot at Liege on July 12 including M. Lejeune, the Commissioner of Police at Liege, the curate of St. Lambert, Herstal, and the beadle of the same parish. , It is ) stated that the priest was three times deprived of food for three days, in order to force him to speak. His assistant suffered torture for the same reason. The Germans forced Mm to drink a drug which had a terrible effect on his nerves. The Belgians, however, refused to speak. l
