WEEDDING BELLS.
A rather pretty and interesting function took place at St; Mary’s Roman. Catholic Church, at Taihape, last Wednesday, when the second daughter (Sarah) of Mr and Mrs J. of the Terrace, Taihape, was married to Mr Stanley Stewart Newson, of the Railway staff, by the Rev. Father Kincade. The bride was given away by her brother, Mr N. Reardon, and she certainly looked charming in her pretty frock of cream ninon and with the customary wreath of orange blossoms and veil, carrying a bouquet of wfiite spring flowers and maiden hair fern. The bride’s sisters acted as maids, looking very pretty in white voile dresses and wearing black picture hats. After the ceremony the whole party were entertained at breakfast at Mr, Pitt’s Rooms, where a dainty repast in orthodox style was served. The happy couple left by the 2.30 p.m. train for Wellington, eu route to Christchurch, where their honeymoon is to be ‘spent. The bride travelled in a tailor made
costume, wearing a dainty, pink picture hat richly adorned with white ostrich feathers. The bride’s present to the bridegroom was a watch chain pendant, a stone heavily gold mounted. The bridesmaids were presented with handsome gold pendants by the bridegroom. The ceremony was a quiet affair owing to three of the bride’s brothers being already at the front, and her husband is shortly going into i^amp.
