There is much criticism of erroneus official announcements that six submarines were believed to be lost, then stating that only one was sunk. The need of greater care is emphasised. Bdgus cablegrams recording proGerman news are concocted for syndicated letters to be seized. MORE TREACHERY EVIDENCE. GERMAN INTENTIONS IN { AMERICA. Received 11.30. Sept 12. Dr. Baeg, former President of Paraguay, has evidence that Germany planned a war conquest of Latin-Am-erica, preparatory to fighting the United States. MR. HOLMAN IN AMERICA. WAR WILL END THIS YEAR, Received 8.50. NEjW YORK Sept 11. Mr Holman, who has arrived in New York, has had many invitations to remain in America a few weeks and deliver addresses on Australia, but he has not yet decided. Interviewed on behalf of the Australian press, Mr Holman said he believed the war was inTTts last year. The submarine situation’ was l ess menacing; submarines would not be a decisive factor in ending the war. Shipping losses at present Avere greater than construction, but losses were lessening. They were astonished to find plenty of food in England and London still standing, in view of the lies with which the Germans fed "prisoners. They much enjoyed real tea in contrast with the acorn tea provided during their captivity. j ROUMANIAN OILFIELDS. I BIG CLAIM FOR DAMAGES. LONDON, Sept 12. Roumanian Consolidated Oilfields have claimed £1,370,000 sterling against the British Government, on account of Mr Norton Griffiths, for the destruction of their oil plant wells and stores at the time of the Prussian invasion.
