FOOTBALL MATCHES

On Saturday next a football match will be played on the Recreation. Ground, Taihape, between the Huia team and the Pirates. The match will be held in aid of the Red Cross Fund, and the collection will be charge of the local Maoris. The Huia team appears to be a stronger one than the Pirates, but the latter have always given a good account of themselves and come well at the right end. So far the Pirates have been unbeaten on their own ground. The following are . th e teams:—Huias: Dashwood, Collerton, Murphy, Tairoa, Chase, Takarangi, Scotty, Percy, Winiata Eria, Wilson, Pini, Barry, Salmon and Ngatai. Pirates: Eaton, Munro, Holtham, Sinclair, James, McDonnell, Bagley, McSweeney Sinclair, Windsor, Campbell, Waller, Welsh, Murphy, Kelly, Fitzsimmons, J. Hay .
