VICTORIA’S WAR PENSIONS REACH NEARLY TWO MILLIONS. Received 10. SO MELBOURNE, this day. War pensions, granted to the end of August, number 55,696, the expenditure being £1,933,798. THE I.W.W. PLAGUE. SYDNEY, Septemer 3. Three more members of the 1.W.W., were sentenced to six months’ each for being members of an unlawful association. Thirty-two were similarly convicted at Broken Hill. SPORTING. SYDNEY, September 3. The first acceptors for the Epsom Include Shrill, Sw*eet Corn, Tressida. First acceptors for the Metropolitan include Kilboy, Shrill, Sweet Corn, Red Pennant, Kilflinn, Tressida and Pro Tem.
