GOLF NOTES.

The best cards handed in for last week’s competitions were: For the Seniors: Bray trophy—A. D. N. Train. 98 —24 —74, M. B. Kirschberg 110—33 —77, R. Andrews, 97—10—87. The winner of this competition, A. D. N„ Train, put up a good performance,, and the lowest handicap score in competitions this season, substantial, reduction in handicap will result. Mr Kirschberg also played well, and reduced his handicap by one. In the Bray trophy competition for juniors, the best cards handed in. were A. L. Upchurch 109 —20 —89 C.. O. Gibbs 116—23—93, T. J. Collinson 115—18—97, W. H..- Fookes 122 —20— 102 ? J. H. Wham 134-^-26 —108. Upchurch secured his first win of the season, whilst Gibbs 'played consistly to be amongst the placed men. The semi-final of the . Senior Championship was played, and two inteo* esting games resulted. J. Evans beat H. Hesketh by 4 up and two to play. Hesketh gave the present champion a good run, and at the end of the first round was two up, but the steady play of the champion pulled him through. R. Andrew's beat Champion by two up and one to play. This was also a Close game. A keen contest was fought out for tie championship between R. Andrews and J. Evans, and athough the chances are in favour of the latter a surprise may resiflt, asEvans is not playing with such consistent good results as, last year.
