ITALY'S PROGRESS: ROME, August 30. After seven days' fighting the Italians conquered four defensive systems. Such was the violence of the Italians bombardment of the Bainsizza plateau that it reduced Chiapovano to a heap of ruins, It is believed that 15,000 Austrian wounded have been conveyed to• hospitals at Libla'ni. The superiority of 'our' military moral is undoubted. Our imminent and decisive success means the turning point in the war." ITALIANS TAKE 93 MILES OF COUNTRY. HUGE HAUL OF PRISONERS, GUNS AND MATERIALS. ROME, August 31. Mr Julius Price .official correspondent on the Italian front, says that the advance has given the Italians possession of 93 miles of splendid country, including the strongest portion of the Austrian line on Middle Izonzo. Already a great number of guns and a vast amount of material have been captured. Prisoners in enclosures total over two divisions. An important fact is that the victory is still unfinished. The Italians are advancing win amazing rapidity. Military highways are being constructed with lightning speed and guns, ammunition, water, and supplies are being pushed forward over the B'ainsizza Plateau. German newspapers assert that Hindenburg , at the WaiCouncil, urged that the Plateau was untenable, but Conrad insisted on the necesisity of holding it all costs as it commanded the strategic line benween Tolmino and Gorizia.
