RETURNED SOLDIERS' BALL.

A meeting of the Returned Soldiers Ball Committee was held in the""Bupper Room, Town Hall, iast night, Sergeant Major De Lcree presiding over a fair attendance of ladies, returned soldiers, and civilians. A vote of thanks was passed tq| Mrs R. Campbell for her donation of a cake, Avhich realised £3 12s 6d at the ball. A special vote of thanks was passed to the ladies committee for their splendid work in connection with the supper, which mot only was supplied free, but showed a credit of roughly of £l2. It was considered that a public acknowledgement of services rendered by all residents of Taihape and district would suffice, as those who assisted the Committee were too numerous to mention, but the Committee are deeply grateful and appreciate the help received gratuitously from the residents in general.

A provisional balance sheet which showed the profits of the ball to be£l26, was presented, and was adopted subject to audit.
