PRESBYTERIAN SUNDAY SCHOOL CONCERT.

Last evening the Presbyterian Hall was literally packed with an enthusiastic audience that had assembled to enjoy the really entertaining programme submitted. t . The concert wa s given in aid of the Sunday School Funds, to help on the education and training of children in their duty to God and their neighbour, to inculcate the idea and practice that goes to create honourable and useful citizenship. The concert was a success from every point of view, thanks to the great amount of work, care, and patience of the lady teachers in the Sunday School. The children acquitted themselves admirably not a duil item being on the programme, as the applause given fully indicated. Taihape is backward in music and singing, and yet it was demonstrated last night that it is not lacking in youthful talent, but rather that parents are lax i n giving the training their children are entitled to. To do justice to all the little performers would require more space than can be afforded in these serious times; it must be said, however, that there \vr..s a display of musical talent that on?y needed training to render it extremely enjoyable and useful in assisting to raise funds for all commendable purposes. The March of Nations allied with our Empire in the vrar re- ; suited in most effective display. The ! scene was kaleidoscopic in variety of colour, the grouping was artistic, and the solos and choruses were remarkably well sung. The Sunday School Fund will benefit, as it richly deserves. The entertainment certainty [ reflected the greatest credit on the organiser, Mr s Eddie Gordon.
