WET AND STORMY WEATHER. Received 10.15. LONDON, August 30 General Haig reports' that the enemy artillery is active at Nicuport. It is wet and stormy. THE HEAVY HAND Of THE HUN. ARRESTS FOR ESPIONAGE. Received 11.40. AMSTERDAM, August 30. M. Kenman, burgomaster of Ramont, in Belgium, and two priests named Ballings and Mush j have been sentenced to death for espionage. Three workmen of Ramont were also imprisonment with the burgomaster. Two sons, a sister, and five nuns were arrested on a similar charge. BRITISH POLITICS LLOYD GEORGE PARTY. LONDON, August 30. The "Central News" states that the most active supporters of Mr. Lloyd George arc forming a new party for the purpose of establishing a party machine fund to fight the election. It includes some of the wealthiest Liberals and -Unionists. The Party advo'cates vigorious prosecution of the war and extensive social reforms. ANOTHER PARTY. LONDON, August 30. A number of Unionists, including Page-Croft, Alam Burgoyne, Montagu Geaulieu, and W. G. Jenkins, have formed a new National Party, on the ground that old political associations are obstacles to the work of post-war national reconstruction.
