TAIHAPE GOLFERS’ EFFORT
At the request of the local committee of the Red Cross Fund the Taihape Golf Club decided at its last meeting to take over The Red Cross Shop on one Saturday, and make a special golfers’ effort. Such an effort was made by the Wanganui Golf Club last Saturday* and realised £230. Having once decided to entertain the scheme the Taihape Golf Club determined to make an effort worthy of the club and its members, and to attempt to beat any effort by previous occupiers of the S-hop. Judging by the enthusiasm displayed by golfers, the previous best of £60 —or in golfing parlance, the bogey of 60 —should be equalled if not beaten.
