BREAKING UP A PEACE MEETING.

SOLDIERS AND SAILOES TAKE A HAND. Received 9.25. LONDON, July 29. A large.crowd, backed by many soldiers, attacked the Brotherhood Church North London, where a peace conference organised by so-called workers and soldiers' council, assembled. The pacifists barricaded the buiTaing and fought strenuously. The crowd broke the windows. Bricks, stones, portions of iron railings, were used by both sides. Mounted police unavailingly tried to intervene. Ultimately the doors were forced and a wild scene took place outside. Furniture was smashed and delegates flung from the platform and several injured. The outside of the biulding was completely wrecked. Mr. Anderson, a commoner, who intended to preside, and Mistress Phil Snowden escaped during the melee. Soldiers and sailors broke up a similar conference in Newcastle.
