AMUSEMENTS.

EVERYBODY'S.

The Famous Players, Lasky combination has produced another picture of the utmost power and interests, and this film, by name '‘Each Pearl a Tear’’ will be shown at Everybody’s to-night. The talented actress Fanny Ward takes the leading part in the drama. No one who saw her play the irresponsible society woman in “The Cheat,” will never forget it. “Each Pearl a Tear, ’ ’ promises to be equally as good. It has what every worth while

play must have—a splendid theme that is interesting, forceful telling, and impressive. Another picture claimed to be of great interest is the three-part drama “Across the Rio Grande.” The supporting pictures are excellent and up to the usual high standard set at this theatre. •>

THREE STARS. “JOHN BULL’S EMPIRE.’’ It is very seldom that picture-lovers in Taihape have an opportunity of seeing a double programme of such superlative merit as will be shown at Jhe Three Stars to-night, for one night only, when W. J. Shephard’s gorgeous Kinemacolour “John Bull’s Empire” and “New Zealand’s Wonderland” will be screened. This programme has toured the whole of the Australasian colonies, and wherever shown has been received with enthusiasm and delight. The pictures, apart from their own intrinsic spectacular merits are triumphs in natural colouring, and have set , America and Australasia talking. William Shephard has come over to personally supervise the showing of the fine double programme, John Bull’s Empire and New Zealand’s Wonderland. Special machines and special films are used to produce natural colours, and William Shephard is" the only man in Australia who does this. In John Bull’s Empire stirring scenes are

shown of a most varied nature and of world-wide interest. The colour effects, true to Nature itself, will prove a revelation. The series dealing with New Zealand’s Wonderland are the Government official films, specially taken, and are shown by Mr. W. J. Shephard by special arrangement with the Government. We would advise those who intend seeing this programme to-night, to attend early, as there is every indication that the theatre will be crowded. The programme will be shown for one night only.
