AMUSEMENTS.

THREE STARS. “He that is without Sin cast the first stone” is a more appropriate name to the picture shown last night “The Eye of the Night,” is a picture that should be seen by all; it shows the true spirit of Christianity. We strongly recommend this picture, and advise all to see it. There will also be a fine Travel picture, “Greater New York,” in five parts; we advise par*, cuts to send their children to see this fine production. It will be shown at the matinee to-morrow and will be supported by a good Keystone. Tomorrow night another of the Metromasterpieces will be shown.

EVERYBODY S. % The pride of Everybodys is the William Fox production, “The Celebrated, Scandal” with Miss Betty Nansen in the big part. Miss Nansen’s role in this production gives full scope to her powers of emotional expression. Director James Durkin also deserves full credit for a remarkable filmplay. He has made the most of the situations with which the production abounds, and the care with which the details arc worked out denotes the hand of a .master craftsman. There have been many surprisingly beautiful scenes worked into this plot The pictures which comprise the remainder of the entertainment are of the best. To-morrow the famous actor Lon Tellegan will be seen in a Lasky Paramount production “ The Victory of” Conscience.” / “BABY .MINE.’’ BOX PLAN OPENS TO-MORROW Complication after complication and yet more complications is the key note of success that attends the latest J. C. Wiliamson Parco Comedy, “BabyMine” which will be presented to local theatre goers at the Town Hall on Tuesday by .those two comedy- players Robert Grieg and Beatrice Holloway and the members of the famous “Seven Keys to Baldpate” Company- who were with us a few weeks back. “Baby r Mine” is a farce in its broadest sense, full of breezy humour, what might be termed onecontinuous scream The complications that ensue are endless, until one /wonders what is coming next, and s6-"‘-reat is the strain that one feels like imitating the deceived husband at the end and flopping over in a faint. The Christchurch Press in speaking of the initial performance of “Baby Mine” at the Theatre Royal say-s: “Certainly nothing so funny- as Baby- Mine has been seen in the Dominion or on the stage for many years. Yet, in the form of a jest, it also preaches, its sermon; in its way it is a telling indictment of the empty- cot and of the trouble that may ensue between man and wife through the absence of children’s faces. As Jimmy Jinks Mr Greig was in his natural element, taking trouble after trouble upon his broad shoulders, sercncdy- every time. His whimsical droll* cries were irresistible and his humour was never forced. One coaid easily imagine that it was Jimmy- Jinks really living the part, not Mr Greig acting it.” In like terms the same paper goes on to speak of the performances of Miss Beatrice Holloway and the other members of the clover combination. The season of this highly successful comedy locally, is a limited one so full advantage should be taken cf the Box Plans which will be opened at Sherwins to-morrow morning. Early door stalls and pit tickets may be purchased on the day- of the performance.
