FAILING TO REGISTER. A COSTLY OMISSION. DUNEDIN, July IS. Albert James Hert was charged in the Police Court this morning with having, failed to make application for enrolment in the First Division. Defendant, said he filled in a from and posted it in 1915, but receivcd. no reply, and last year he called at the post office, filled in a form, and posted it. The magistrate said the onus was on the defendant to show that he had made application for enrolment. He had taken no steps to find out what happened to his aplication, or to see whether his name was on the First Division iist. Defendant was fined £SO. WELLINGTON PROSECUTIONS. X WELLINGTON, July 18. Aa- the result of police raids yesterday two reservists were before the Court to-day One, charged with failure to state his place.abode, was remanded for inquiries. Another was fined £2, with the alternative of fourteen days for bad language. For insolently refusing to give information regarding his place of residence he was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called on. He is a returned soldier.
