TAOROA.

An enjoyable social was held in the Taoroa Hall, on Tuesday evening last. Despite the inclement weather, a good number of people attended, and a right and enjoyable time was spent. The principal artiste of the evening was Rev. E. 0. Plummer of Hawera, who gave various dramatic, humorous and prose items. Local friends assisted, Miss Aborn rendering two pianoforte solos, most acceptably; Miss Smylie obliged with two violin pieces, and the chairman also sang. After the concert supper was served by the young people and later the hall was cleared for a few games. The social which was in aid of the Methodist Circuit Fund concluded with the singing of "Auld Lang Syne."
