AMUSEMENTS.

THESE STARS. That delightful Pantominc “Cinderella” featuring Little Mary Pickford, shown a-f this Theatre last night, was a treat to see, it will be shown for the last time to-night, as a support to the sensational Triangle production “The Wolf Woman.” The interior setting, racecourse scenes, roof gardens, and! . 7 & the don of the spider have never been equalled in moving pictures. Louise Glaum bursts forth as a full-fledged star in ‘ ‘ The Wolf Woman,’ ’ and more than justifies her promotion. In her support are Howard Hickman, Charles Ray and Wyndham Standing, Author C. Gardner Sullivan wrote the story expressly to suit Miss Glaum’s peculiar talents.

To-morrow night a startling ‘ Metro ' production will be shown, the total programme being 12,000 feet of film. This will be shown at the matinee on Saturday.

EVEKYBOU Y S. The introduction of the big WilKanr Fox production “Carmen” at Everybody’s last night aroused .a great deal of interest among Taihape picturegoers. A largo number of people being present long before the entertainment began. The picture does not adhere very strictly to the text of the well-known story, but the essentials are faithfully and cleverly presented. Theda Bara, who takes the main part, has found her ideal role in that of the passionate and fickle Carmen, and her peculiarly vivid manner of presenting emotional parts constituted one of the distinguishing merits of the production. There is great range for originality and elaboration in the staging and setting of the story, and the resources of the Fox studios have been lavishly turned out to make the picture worthy of being included amongst the few' films that have been classed by the “trade’ 7 as “cinema classics,” “Carmen” will be screened for the last time to-night.

Commencing to-morrow at the matinee Mary Pickford will bo seen in her latest and greatest triumph “Hulda from Holland.'’ This picture when recently shown at the Tivoli Theatre in Auckland met with a well merited success. Hundreds of intending patrons were of necessity turned away from the house. It will be s'tfowa in Taihape for one night only.
