In a speech from the balcony he announced that the Array had sworn allegiance to the new King, thus achieving the long desired union of the two parties in Greece. General Papoulas asked to be relieved of his command. He issued a farewell order exhorting the troops to remain fraternally united and to serve the King and country. The various Allied controls, except over telegraphic services, will cease this week.
