FROZEN MEAT

MEAT IN STORE. APPEALS FOE SHIPS. | WELLINGTON, June 30. Mr. Massey'arranged this morning to cable to England particulars of the quantities of meat at present in store and expected when the season opens. This action is taken with a view to impressing the Imperial authorities with the urgent necessity of providing increased tonnage to relieve the congestion. and is the start of a publicity campaign in England respecting the moat position in New Zealannd. It is intended to cable particulars weekly to the Imperial authorities and the British. Press. There are 3,250,000 carcases of meat in store at present, and in two or three weeks the total will approximate four million carcases.
