An advertisement appears in this issue giving particulars of a great reducing sale that is to be held by H. D. B'ennett Ltd. The sale commences on Wednesday next. In addition to the poultry prizes brought form the Palmerston Winter Show by Taihape exhibitors, reported in Saturday’s issue, Mr. D. A. Fraser, won the Orpington Shield, and Mr. J. R. Cunninghame took several prizes in the White Wyandotte classes. ! On Friday, July 6, the good people of Bennett's Siding are going to hold • a social and dance in aid of the Taihape Women’s Working Club. Very complete arrangements are being made. There is to be good music, good floor, good supper, and all for a very good cause. The name of Lieut. Lionel Dixon, late secretary of the Taihape Freezing Company, was in the last casualty list. A private cable to his brother, Mr. W. Dixon, of Papanui Station, Taihape, stafes that the injured mart is now in hospital in England w r ith a scalp wound that is not very serious.
