GOLF NOTES.
Two competitions were played by members of the Taihape Golf Club during last week end. The trophies in each case were presented by the club. The men's senior stroke competition resulted as follows:—W. V. Kelsall 99—23—76 (winner); A. James 110—33—77, D. Neagle 96—16 —BO, S.' Beban 105—25—80, P. E. Wakeman 99—IS—81, J. T. Mortland 114—33—81, >p. Hesketh 99—16—83, G. Bray 99—11—88. The winner, W. V. Kelsall, put up a good score with the club and was only beaten by D. Neagle, 96, the best score in the competition, the latter player is due for a win at an early date. The lien's junior stroke competition resulted:— H. O'Callaghan 112—28 84, T. Bradley 112—20—92, R. J. McDonell 121—25—96. H. O'Callaghan, the winner, has improved rapidly and has not been long in redoing his handicap. The first three players in this competition are this year's beginners and all are showing good form and will be at the head of the" junior list before the season closes. Next week-end a mixed foursome for a hand-bag (ladies* prize) and a fountain pen (men's prize) presented by Collinson and Gifford, will be pla3 r ed.
