FOOTBALL NOTES.

The selectors of the "Has Beens" team to play against C 59 Taihape team on the Recrejiiion Ground next Saturday have sorted out the following to uphold the honour of "olu age" against "youth": Davy Wood Mad, Banjo Patterson, Jimmy Pini, Tlim. Munro, Bob Ongley, Oily Instone, Jack Saunders, Bert Collerton, Tom Barry, Bunny Abbott Joe Corbett, Vai Campbell, Tom Welsh, Harry Salmon, Will Percy, Charlie Kelly, Harry Absolum and Tom Bradley. Any of the above who are unable to play are requested to advise Mr. Tom Barry at once, to enable the place in the ranks to be filled.

Each player is required to bring on to the ground with him one pair of football boots, pants and jersey, sox or stockings, optional, and not to be under the delusion these will be supplied him.

As the Taihape team will be playing in black jerseys, the "Has Beens" are requested to supply themselves with a jersey of any colour in the rainbow bar black.

As many of the "Has B'eens" have not seen a ball for several years, the team, is requested to assembl?£at the "Rec." at 2.30 p.m., where a ball will be on view and at the same time a scrum formed and captain elected. They are reminded that the teams still consist of fifteen men aside, and that the winning side is" that one which secures the most tries or goals. There is no limit to the score, which can be made by or put up against a side.

No player is allowed to. purposely mistake an opponent's s-hin, boots, or head for the ball; if he does referee Kelsall has power to place him amongst the spectators.

The "Has Beei>s" are training under the direction of Coach Fred Simson, who has given his services gratuitously. Under his supervision the first training took place this morning, the members of the team indulging in ilght exercise, consisting. of a run from the Gretna Corner tp Ridge Road and back via v Mangaweka. i Towards the end of the week training in earnest will. take, place.
